    The City of Mount Gambier, as part of its broad management of parks, gardens and public spaces is the owner and custodian of the area currently known as the Blue Lake Golf Course.

    Council has resolved to undertake public consultation on a proposal to grant a lease of the Blue Lake Golf Course to the Queen Elizabeth Park Trust.

    The City of Mount Gambier currently hosts four individual Dry Area Zones, each of which will expire in November this year. These zones are located at The City Centre, Vansittart Park Gardens, Dimjalla Park; and A F Sutton Memorial Park.

    While Council was previously required to reapply to maintain these zones every five years, Council is considering a new application option to extend these zones indefinitely. Have Your Say on Dry Area Zones in Mount Gambier.

    The Draft Annual Business Plan and Budget is a statement of the City’s intended services, programs and activities for the financial year.

    The City of Mount Gambier in accordance with the provision of Section 197 of the Local Government Act 1999 is required to develop a Community Land Management Plan for all parcels of Community Land within Mount Gambier.

    A series of draft Community Land Management Plans have now been developed which includes new and amended land holdings. Council now invite the community to inspect, and comment on any aspect of the draft plans and encourage you, your colleagues, friends and neighbours to contribute your feedback.

    The City of Mount Gambier is seeking submissions from residents who would like fruit and nut trees planted in their local reserve. Up to $1000 worth of plants are being offered for this competitive process.

    The City of Mount Gambier is committed to reducing waste to landfill, especially organics. As one step towards this, in June 2016 Council gave away 2,000 kitchen caddies to green waste subscribers.

    To assist us to evaluate the effectiveness of this project, we'd like to hear from those who received a kitchen caddy as part of their subscription to Green Waste Services in 2016 - 2017.

    Council is inviting eligible candidates to complete a survey to collate feedback regarding the use of the kitchen caddies to divert food scraps away from rubbish bins, and hence landfill.

    Those completing a survey can opt-in to go into the draw to win a worm farm kit valued at over $50 or one of 30 free coffee/drink vouchers from Bookmark Café at the Mount Gambier Library.

    The City of Mount Gambier has made a strong commitment to embrace environmental sustainability. Council has become very aware of its environment and that of the community and wishes to act as a local leader and also aid in demonstrating environmental sustainability actions and environmental compliance.

    The City of Mount Gambier is seeking applications from individuals or groups residing/located within the City who would like to establish small-scale projects that are innovative and create positive environmental, social and economic benefits for the community. Up to $5000 for each application is being offered for this competitive process.
