How often will the meetings be?

The YAG are currently meeting fortnightly on Tuesday afternoons during school term at the Mount Gambier Library. We understand people may have other commitments and YAG members are free to discuss the times that suit the group best.

Who will be running the YAG?

Council's Youth Officer will be the main contact for the YAG and do the behind the scenes work to make sure things run smoothly.

The YAG will be running things in relation to what is delivered, meeting times/days, and focus areas.

What sort of training will the YAG get?

Depending on the type of events and activities that the YAG decides on there may be opportunities to develop skills on specific things. However the generic training will be:

    • How to plan and deliver events
    • Leadership
    • Consultation (getting other peoples feedback and ideas)
    • Goal setting and monitoring success
    • Wellbeing
    • Communication and marketing

How long will I need to commit?

We ask for a minimum 12 month commitment to the YAG, to give people the opportunity to make a difference with the group. There is no maximum length, although 25 years old is the age limit to participate in the group.
