  • Passionate and motivated people from all backgrounds and perspectives
  • People able to come to regular meetings during school terms and actively participate in the YAG

  • Build your skills in leadership, teamwork and more with specific training opportunities
  • Advocate for the issues and opportunities that matter to you and other young people
  • Bring new ideas, events, and activities to engage young people in Mount Gambier
  • Gain experience in important areas such as event planning, budgeting and community work to set yourself apart on job and study applications.

In 2025, Council have organised for specialised leadership training for the YAG, to help new members develop a vision for the future of the group. This is an important opportunity to shape what the YAG will look like going forward and what sort of activities the group will focus on. The future is in your hands - time to think strategically!

  • Council's Youth Programs and Events Officer will review all the applications and notify applications of the outcome, forming a diverse YAG that represents our community and has the skills and ambition to get things happening.
