"From before birth, children belong through their connections to family, community, culture and place. Warm reciprocal relationships between parents, carers, families and children are the foundation of children’s learning and development. As children participate in everyday life they develop new relationships, new interest and construct their own identities and understandings of the world." (ELYF Educator Guide)
