Community Panel Update

The feedback Council received through each stage of the project has been provided to our community panel to inform their thinking and discussion in shaping the vision for the future of Mount Gambier.

Forty-four (44) community members were independently selected for the Mount Gambier 2035 Community Panel and made up a representative sample of our community. Of the forty-four, 28 community members attended the main sessions. These individuals brought their diverse expertise, ideas and life experience to the table to review and reflect on the feedback from our community, across 3 sessions, in responding to the following ‘charge’ (or task) set by Council:

  • What are the key elements that will inform the vision for Mount Gambier 2035?
  • What should the strategic priorities for our community as we approach 2035?
  • How might we describe our cultural identity as a city?

The community panel presented their recommendations to Council on 28 May 2024 to ultimately inform the final draft of Mount Gambier 2035.

We are now in the process of finalising a draft for community consultation to be presented at the June Council Meeting.
