Mount Gambier is the first community in regional South Australia to host the Live and Local program, presenting Homemade Jam: Live and Local Mount Gambier, with musical activity being delivered from September 2021 through to March 2022.

Delivered successfully in a range of regions across Australia, 'Live and Local' is a tried and tested model that seeks to support the growth of venue-based live music through the delivery of unique performance opportunities and professional development activity for local live music communities.


HOMEMADE JAM MOUNT GAMBIER LIVE AND LOCAL INCLUDES:

  • a Micro Music Festival around the city centre which showcased local performers and unique venues - see the photos here
  • Professional development workshops delivered to local live music stakeholders - find out more and learn about our facilitators
  • a Music Industry Roundtable to gather input into what a thriving music scene could look like for Mount Gambier - find out more
  • Development of a Live Music Action Plan to assist in bolstering live music in our region.

HOW CAN YOU PARTICIPATE?

1. Spare 10 minutes to complete a SURVEY:

  • Audiences - those who buy tickets, attend gigs or are attracted to places that offer live music; and
  • Musicians - artists involved in performing live music in Mount Gambier.

2. Register for the Professional Development Workshop on Saturday 5 March and Sunday 6 March 2022.

3. Register for the Live Music Roundtable on Tuesday 8 March 2022.

4. Tell us about your most memorable live music experience or share your ideas on the ingredients required for a vibrant live music scene in Mount Gambier.

5. Contact the Live Music Project Officer at the City of Mount Gambier to provide your feedback and ideas directly.

The City of Mount Gambier has partnered with the Live Music Office and APRA AMCOS to deliver the program which been assisted by the Australian Government through the Australia Council for the Arts, its arts funding and advisory body.

Additional project support has been made possible by the Department for Innovation and Skills through the Music Development Office
