This consultation has concluded.
Since the purchase of the Former Hospital Site in November 2011, Council have undertaken to improve the general appearance of the site and secured the site with fencing. In addition, an extensive consultation campaign was undertaken to gain a clear sense of the community's expectation for the future of the site.
The community feedback received throughout the engagement process guided Councils thinking and an informed decision on the future of the site was endorsed in July 2012 as follows:
Council develop a Concept Plan that features the removal of all buildings on the site, Former Hospital and connected buildings, boiler house, building and engineering services, bunker, workshops, car shelter and the Former School of Nursing and return the total site to passive recreation.
The Concept Plan is now complete and Council are keen to again engage with the community and invite you, your colleagues, friends and neighbours to contribute your feedback to this significant redevelopment project.
