Commercial Council Rates Rebate

Council acknowledges the economic hardship and suffering that our business community has had to endure as a result of the sudden lockdown of businesses is enormous.

As a response, Council will refund or waiver equivalent to one quarter of rates and NRM Levy for the financial year 2019/2020 for ratepayers with a Land use category of Commercial (as stated on rate notice), on application subject to meeting ONE of the following criteria:

• Being a business specified in Emergency Management (Non-Essential Business and Other Activities No 4) (COVID-19) Direction 2020; or
• Being in receipt of Federal Government JobKeeper payments; or
• Being able to demonstrate a 30% or greater loss of trade for one month or more as a result of COVID-19.
