The City of Mount Gambier is proposing to revoke the community land classification applicable to a screening reserve with a total size of 12 square meters located at Jubilee Hwy West, Suttontown. The particular parcel is described as Allotment 212 in Deposited Plan 125742 and is detailed on the map below in orange.

The subject land is currently used as a screening reserve to prevent access or egress onto Jubilee Highway West by privately held adjoining parcels. Generally, whilst not prevented from doing so, the subject land is not used by the public, given its size and location. Council has identified the subject land to be surplus to its requirements and seeks to dispose of the land accordingly.

A report providing further detail attached to the proposed revocation of the classification, including the reasoning for the revocation request and the purpose of the community consultation, can be found here.

Council invites submissions of support or objection to the proposed revocation, including reasons, until 5:00 pm on Wednesday 8 January 2025, via:

All submissions will be presented to Council for consideration at the next available Ordinary Meeting following closing of the consultation.

After consideration of submissions, the Council shall either discontinue the revocation process or proceed to make an application to the Minister for Local Government for approval to proceed. If Council proceeds, all public submissions will be forwarded to the Minister for consideration as part of the formal application.
