The newly established City of Mount Gambier Youth Activation Group (YAG) is a group of 12–25 year-olds who work with council to take action on things that matter for youth in our community. The group is open to new members to brainstorm and deliver new ideas, events, and activities to make Mount Gambier a great place to be.
People aged 15 to 25 years (Those aged 12-14 years will be considered to become members following recommendation)
Live, work, study, or play in the City of Mount Gambier
Be able to come to regular meetings and actively participate in the YAG
Building your skills with training and new experiences
Meeting new people
Advocating for whats important and getting something done about it
Having fun and making Mount Gambier a better place to live, study and play.
Organising activities and events
Increasing the awareness of local youth opportunities and issues
Attending meetings to plan, discuss and evaluate things delivered by the YAG and Council
Working together to come up with local solutions to issue effecting the lives of young people in Mount Gambier
Council recently received funding from the Commission for Children and Young People to activate the Youth Space at Wulanda and this will be the YAG's first project. We have the money and we need your ideas of what to do and then get things happening! This could include delivering workshops/events/activities during the school holidays or buying consoles/equipment to use in the room for drop in sessions its totally up to the YAG.

Council will review all of the applications and assess them to form a diverse YAG that represents our community and has the skills and ambition to get things happening. Council will notify the successful and unsuccessful applicants via email, if successful you will be provided with a welcome pack and details of the meetings which are held at the Wulanda Youth Space.
