A community vision is a collective agreement about what we want our community to be like in the future. This vision covers the next 11 years, leading up to 2035, and it's a shared commitment among everyone who lives, works, and enjoys our city.

This vision will serve as the guiding principle for all planning and decision-making by the City of Mount Gambier Council and its community.

We're excited to work together with you, our partners, and other government levels to make our community's aspirations a reality.

Under the Local Government Act 1999, councils are required to review their Strategic Management Plans within two years after a general local government election.

In line with this requirement, our Council is aiming to create a new Community Vision that will guide the strategic priorities of Council. 

Our current Community Vision was developed in 2011, coinciding with the City of Mount Gambier Futures Paper for City Development. However, since then, there has been a lot change in our city and community. 

Therefore, we're taking this opportunity to reconnect and discover what aspirations our community holds for 2035.

The creation of Mount Gambier 2035 is a community effort. The City of Mount Gambier wants everyone involved—residents, students, workers, businesses, and visitors— to help shape the city's future. While the City of Mount Gambier is leading the process, it is with its role as a regional capital in mind. 

Your involvement in shaping Mount Gambier's future is highly encouraged, whether you live, work, play, or have any connection to the City. You don't need to be an expert—everyone's ideas matter. The Council welcomes input from all parts of the community, ensuring that diverse perspectives and ideas contribute to the creation of this community-driven vision document.
